In our pre teen years before we grew into young women and men
Those were far happier times for us then
The childhood games with our friends we did play
In our lunch breaks in the schoolyard far away
Memories of young innocence such a wonderful thing
Moments of joy as we age to us bring
But innocence with us did not remain
Memories of it are all we do retain
Everytime i hear the laughter of children at play
My thoughts return to the town far away
When every day brought to us some new surprise
And we looked at the World through innocent eyes
When we were younger many years ago
Long before time it did become our foe.
