And I have written reams and reams of rhyming stuff
And yet as a rhymer not one to the fore
I just write for enjoyment and little else more
Far too old for to yearn for financial wealth and fame
Or that mine should become a known literary name
There are many like me in every town
Known to be rhymers and strangers to literary renown
They write rhymes for enjoyment and are not widely known
But then as is said it is each to their own
To the well paid literary critics a rhymer is just not a poet
And is one who is not worthy of literary note
But rhymers do never give rhyming away
And they add to their numbers of rhymes every day.
