The father of her baby daughter is not with her today
He left her in the lurch when his wild oats he had sown
And the child he helped to create she must raise on her own
A beautiful young woman in her twenty first year of life
The man she loved never intended for to make her his wife
When she became pregnant with her he did not stay
She does not seem to know where he is living today
Love does not work when it is only one way
And for unrequited love always some price to pay
With her it is as is said once bitten twice shy
She may never again give love another try
But she has a baby daughter for to love and for to care
In this respect she is luckier than many of this she is aware
Sometimes for falling in love there can be a price to pay
The young man she loved is not with her today.
