Before A Fall

A saying from the past well worthy of recall
That pride is a thing that comes before a fall
So many proud people who have fallen from grace
Have moved from their hometown to another place

To start a new life where nothing of their past is known
Though their sins far from bad their past they wish to disown
Proud people from past misdemeanors do hide
There is nothing more mentally fragile than a wounded pride

Pride and arrogance are similar in many a way
And proud and arrogant people are not rare in the Human World of today
But when their pride is wounded they do not socialize
Their deflated egos to a sense of shame does give rise

That there are many forms of pride only true for to say
And proud people not rare one meets them every day
And as is said of pride it can come before a fall
