Whatever Happens To The Soul

The longest lived human life is not long in time
People in their forties are well past their physical prime
Those who live for a century of years in the few
And this is not saying anything that is new
Whatever happens to the soul when the body does die
If i said that i knew it would be telling a lie
I leave this to those with a theology degree 
Who claim to know far more about this than me 
Any deceased person i have known or known of have not come back to me to tell 
Of an afterlife for the soul or of a heaven or a hell 
Of what does seem an unknown of some do claim to know  
But of a life for the human soul after bodily death the mystery only does grow 
I only wish to live for as long as i can 
And die without pain as a very old man.
