Does not matter to me now of my every life's loss and gain
And of what was only memories with me now remain
Far north of this countryside near Warrnambool
Where i was a dunce of the primary school
In Duhallow in north Cork in Millstreet Town
Where old Clara mountain as ever looks down
On Duhallow and Sliabh Luachra's green countryside
For it's scenic beauty that is known far and wide
Too old now for regrets or of what might have been to feel sad
In life we must take the good times with the bad
It is said from life we receive what is only our due
Though on many instances this is not true
In cemeteries near or in Millstreet or from there far away
Some i went to school with among the deceased does lay
Some from Duhallow migrated and some at home did stay
The girls and boys of the fifties have known of a far better day
Does not matter to me now of the what used to be
In a place where today few would know of me
The now is what matters and of the past only memories not dead
And who is to say of us what lay ahead.
