In writing no wealth or fame for every old rhyming buff
Who every day add to their growing numbers of rhyming stuff
The people who write reams of rhymes by the score
That the literary critics do choose to ignore
There are rhymers in every village and town
Who do age with their dreams of literary renown
But literary wealth and fame sadly for them not their due
And such dreams for the few only ever come true
But the old rhyming buffs do keep rhyming away
And add to their numbers of rhymes every day
They never grow wealthy and famous only old and gray
Old habits die hard as the wise one does say
The old rhyming buffs years beyond their lives prime
Will never lose their strong addiction to rhyme.
