We All Need Some Ego

We all need some ego in life to survive
To follow our dreams it helps our mental drive
And though the praises of the wealthy celebrities the masses may sing
An over-inflated ego for the mind is not a  good thing
Praise it can go to the praised one's head
Something that you would have often have heard said
That down to earth materially wealthy people are in the few
To anyone this is not anything that is new
And an over-inflated ego there can be no denying
To the higher feelings can be self destroying
As it can crowd from the mind compassion and empathy
Two of Nature's gifts to humanity
But it is true we all need some ego in life to survive
To follow our dreams it helps our mental drive.
