From where i now live in distance far away
Ireland the Country where i first saw light of day
Even far inland from Hibernia's shore
In view of the high fields of green Claramore
Ireland the old Land of story and song
Much of it's history to the oral age does belong
Fionn Macchumaill, Cu Chulainn and Brian Boru
Stories of them myths or legends either of the two
So many stories have been written and told
Of Ireland a Country in time very old
Hibernia 'place of winter' the original name
Given to it by the Romans when by ships they first came
To the northern Land from their home Country far away
In the Country now known as Ireland theirs was a short stay
In the depths of Winter the coldest time of year
That it was not for them obviously clear
Of Ireland story tellers have so many stories to tell
Some of them happy and some sad as well
It was there that i first saw the light of day
By the distant mountains from here far away.
