On Welcome Swallows

With the sun on their dark wings in the blue Summer sky
In pursuit of flying insects the welcome swallows fly
Above the brown paddocks a familiar sight
Of the southern Land often in full flight

In their breeding Season under house eaves not far away
White brown spotted eggs two to five in cup shaped mud nest the females lay
Like all swifts and martins and swallows Worldwide
They are known to migrate from their home countryside

To watch them in full flight quite amazing indeed
Above parks and paddocks flying at great speed
Their speed is their ally in truth one can say
As they are too fast for to catch even for the fastest birds of prey

Creatures of flight not bound to territory
Hunting for flying insects quite amazing to see
Birds born to fly of them one can say
Above the paddocks i see them every day.
