It is true we all breathe in the polluted air
But life for so many people seems so unfair
So many of the less fortunate are doing it quite tough
And no shortage of the homeless and hungry and those sleeping rough
Even in known prosperous Nations some in dire poverty
Among the living there is no such a thing as equality
In dark laneways in old disused factories out of public sight
Many of the Town's homeless are sleeping rough tonight
Life's choices are not for everyone despite what many may say
For the children of very poor parents life is a battle from their very first day
No billionaire living on poverty street
And no lavish parties where poor people meet
The pinnacle of success does seem far from the financially down
They do not have friends and admirers the poor of the town
Of who to or of where you were born you did not have a choice
The poor they are those without a public voice
But the one who makes all people equal one day
Life's Reaper on all lives has the final say
Inequality does not exist where dead people lay
Though for the Reaper of lives you won't hear a hooray.
