Many migrants of Ireland in eternal rest lay
Their life's dreams and ambitions took them far away
In their first home-place some do not wish to stay
On their life's journey many an up and a down
In the big World out there far from their first home town
And though the last breath of life from their mortal bodies has gone
Some of them in their children their seed living on
Migration out of Ireland the decades does span
In the years of the great famine this for them began
Though for many young Irish to migrate today there is no need
To travel the World it is in their breed
Far from where they first looked on the light of day
Many of the migrants of Ireland in foreign graves lay.
