In her mid forties and seemingly carefree
Proud as a mother and a wife can be
Of her husband John and their offspring Lee
The ever seemingly happy Mrs Lillian McDee

Their son Lee like his dad a carpenter by trade
They work as partners as contract carpenters they are paid
Much like his mother seemingly carefree
Lee in September will turn twenty three

Lillian does not wear any makeup or buy jewellery
Of her one can say she is what you does see
In her wavy brown hair there are some strands of gray
She is a woman who is ageing in the natural way

A down to earth cheerful woman free of conceit and guile
She greets everyone with a beautiful smile
Quite attractive looking one who loves and enjoys life
And is happy in her role of mother and wife

One of those friendly people i happen to meet
On her way to the super market on the main street
She always does smile and say good day to me
