In many human beings success to big egos does seem to give rise
Though this in itself is not any surprise
Praise to the mind often not a good thing
This is what happens when many your praises does sing
Though this is not saying anything that is new
The humble of mind sadly are in the few
And of me like most others it can also be said
That praise is a thing that does go to my head
Promotion of self an in thing in the World of today
In the twenty first century it has become this way
At parties and social gatherings where people does meet
So many for attention with each other compete
But then cannot blame people if others they wish to impress
In a World where money and fame by many are linked to success.
