Billy the ex shearer balding and grey
He is now showing the wear of time's decay
His craggy wrinkled features from years of sun brown
In his travels he has drunk in pubs in many a bush town
He has many stories of his travels and his shearing life
And of the women he made love to though none of them became his wife
They loved me and left me is what he does say
I am just an old fellow who is childless and wifeless today
Of the good and the bad times in life he has known
In his one bedroom rental flat he lives on his own
At their home games he cheers on the local football club
And he always enjoys a few beers at the pub
On his eighty fifth year he is still going strong
To a tough breed of people he is one who belong.
