It Is True

It is true that people of great material wealth and fame
In the World do become by many a widely known and respected name
Yet many of their sort not compassionate or kind
And to the desire for more money are quite readily inclined
And to Mother Earth who does feed us few of their sort a friend
Money does not make you a friend of the natural environment why otherwise pretend
The Earth that does feed us is suffering due to human greed
And of far more wealthy human friends she is badly in need
The health of the economic environment is important no doubt
But the Earth that feeds us we could not live without
On our very survival on her we depend
Yet her rights so few seem willing to defend
Our Earth Mother from greedy humans is under constant attack
And those who wage war on Nature in compassion does lack
