Wherever the aspirational does meet
For attention with each other they do compete
In their quest to be the wealthiest, best loved and most famous in the town
Their dreams even transcend the local renown
Their own praises among their peers they do love to sing
Compassion for others is never their thing
They do have in them the strong desire others to impress
The accumulation of money is their idea of success
They like telling each other of how marvellous they are
The size of their home and size of their new car
It is only of self they like talking about
Of how important they think they are they do not leave you in doubt
Among other aspirational people they have their friends and their foes
Like all others with them it is each to their own one would have to suppose
Too much love of self is not good for the human mind
But suppose humanity is made up of every kind.
