On your solitary moments of reflection and self doubt
Every day hurrying to work against the clock of time
On competing for success with others you spend your life's prime
As the Poet Davies once said you do not have time to stare
At Nature's beauty around a beauty that is rare
At the beauty of a multi coloured bird on a sunlit tree
On your hurrying through life you have no time to see
Too busy in your quest for money and fame
Of the beautiful flower to get to know by name
Than this you have far more important challenges in life for to meet
For promotion in your workplace others you must outcompete
And when you grow frail and old your daughter or son
May not even thank you for the good things for them you have done
They may even commit you to an old folks home and you all but disown
Every day to talk of with your new found frail old friends of better days you have known.
Have you ever stopped one moment for to look around
At the amazing beauty in Nature that does abound
Or are you far too busy others trying to impress
As you compete for this thing that is known as success.
