And gray kangaroos grazing in the paddock nearby
To the woodland where they do spend most of the day
Most of them wary of humans fear on their survival some part does play
The whistling of the golden whistlers so pleasant to hear
Mid Winter to Spring their breeding time of year
And the magpies are warbling on all Seasons they sing
They too breed from mid Winter all through the Spring
Though the farm dams remain low in water and dry every drain
The paddocks looking green after the recent rain
And the black and white birds with the distinctive song
The voices of the pee wees one should never get wrong
In the Moyne Shire between Cobden and Warrnambool
The evening is calm, dry and sunny though on the side of cool
In June in south west Victoria the weather changes fast
And yesterday's heavy rain a memory of the past
Though the evening is calm with only a slight breeze
The weather temperature is chilly down to eight degrees
And the birds they are singing as the sun goes down
Between Warrnambool City and old Cobden Town.
