The Gundijtmara People

Of the coastal countryside known as south west Victoria they are the first race
And as an indigenous people with thousands of years of history they should take pride of place
In this part of the far southern Land but it is not the case
The way their ancestors were treated nothing short of a disgrace
The Gundijtmara People of their heritage feel rightfully proud
And their praises as a race of survivors ought to be sung loud
Others from their ancestral land have done materially and financially well
And have their material success stories of for to tell
But the Gundijtmara people the descendants of the dispossessed
With the achievements of the second comers rightfully not impressed
And that they feel this way should not be hard to understand
About those who gained most from their ancestral Land
But the Gundijtmara People will always be south west Victoria's first race
And for this reason they do deserve the honour of pride of place.
