At Ninety Three

The urge to go to the toilet comes to you readily
In the time of your life when you struggle to pee
Your urine no longer comes in a quick flow
Just a drip at the time and rather painful and slow

The movement of your bowels you can no longer control
Time on the best of them does take it's toll
Just like a baby diapers you must wear
There is more to ageing than wrinkles and loss of hair

An aged old bloke losing memory
And a shadow of the man that you once used to be
A famous athlete when in your life's prime
But eventually the best of them lose out to time

In the nursing home you will live your last night and day
Your beloved wife in the cemetery lay
Some of your family visit but not regularly
One has outlived their usefulness at ninety three

The one who is known to create equality
Of suffering eventually sets everyone free
What has happened to you may well happen to me
If i am lucky enough for to reach ninety three.
