But the magpies are singing in Koroit today
Though nearing mid Winter in early July
For the past few days the weather has been pleasant and dry
Though dams low in water and dry every drain
The parks and paddocks look green after the recent rain
New leaf buds are showing in many a deciduous tree
Signs of an early Spring this well might be
As a place of many cultures one of it's claims to renown
Koroit is a beautiful old country Town
Where the people are friendly even to a strange face
They help to make Koroit Town a welcoming place
And the birds who do sing every day of the year
The warbling of the magpies so pleasant to hear.
