Bill In His Mid Twenties

He has been down many a time but refuses to be counted out
And his brain it has often been racked by self doubt
For Bill there has never been an easy pay
In the poor side of town life lived in the hard way

He no longer speaks to his alcoholic father Dean
Him and his mother Grace and his younger sister Jean
He often bashed when home drunk from the local public bar
As well as physical bruises he left them with many a mental scar

Himself and his mum and his sister of him were finally free
When he was sentenced to eight years in prison for armed robbery
His sister now a happily married young mother and his mum a happy single divorcee
Though like him the past for them too not a good memory

Bill in his mid twenties now lives on his own
Of some tough times in life he is one who has known
And though he is one who has lived through many a tough day
He looks to the future in a positive way.
