It is out of trust that friendships are made
And friendships do end when trust is betrayed
Your former best friend now your worst enemy
This is how it is and how it always will be
The betrayal of trust to dislike gives rise
And bitterness is always the winner in broken friendship ties
It takes two trusting people a relationship to retain
And few as good friends a lifetime does remain
And though there are lifetime friendships they are of the few
And this is not saying anything that is new
They are honourable people those who to trust remain true
And this is only for to give them their due
And trust between people is betrayed every day
And dislike that can lead to hatred is the price for it to pay.
