Jack Hardy is one who loves his glass of cheer
With his mates in the pub he does enjoy his beer
A great grandfather in his eighties he lives on his own
By all of the patrons of the local pub he is well liked and well known
His wife Jane left him many years ago
Going way back in time some two decades or so
She gave him the ultimatum choose her or the alcohol the alcohol he did choose
As Jack says of life you do win and do lose
To be the oldest customer in the local pub one of his claims to fame
Drunk or sober old Jack he always seems the same
One can say of him quite a likeable bloke
He does laugh at life and enjoys a good joke
Time has left him wrinkled and balding and gray
But he is one who makes the most of every day.
