The seconds and minutes keep ticking away
And at the stroke of midnight the past will be today
And remember the old song it's words do not lie
That the longer you live the sooner you will die
The Reaper of lives does not care of how wealthy you are
Or of the size of your home or of the size of your car
Despite your social status the monarch of death
Will not spare you of your greatest gift living breath
From your material successes your head swollen in pride
And you may well feel you have time on your side
But the Reaper of lives will claim life's breath from you
And nothing about it you can hope to do
The clocks on our lives ever ticking away
And remember again what the old song did say.
