James The Rhymer

He has written a lot over decades of time
Old James with the literary honour of the local laureate of rhyme
Far beyond the town borders he is widely known
His output of rhymes into thousands has grown
Since he is one the literary critics does not see as worthy to criticize
Up the literary ladder he has failed to rise
Yet he remains the number one rhymer of town
And thus retains his claim to literary renown
In rhyming words with him none can hope to rate
In rhyme the local successes he does celebrate
In rhyming words he has made for himself a name
James the Rhymer his nickname one of local fame
He penned his first verses when he was nineteen
And sixty years since then of life he has seen.
