Late May In The Moyne Shire

The gray clouds of rain are low over the bay
It is raining in the coastal countryside today
On what is a cool weather temperature high for the day of fifteen degrees
Yet how pleasant to hear the flute like notes floating in the freshening breeze
Of the silver billed magpies melodious and clear
The birds who do sing every day of the year
And the birds by sight and song familiar to many and me
The magpie larks are singing their distinctive pee wee
With the calendar Autumn less than a forthnight away
It is what you might call a typical late Autumn day
In the Moyne Shire in late May Nature's beauty to be seen
The recent rain has left the paddocks looking fresher and green
The sun it is hidden behind clouds of gray
Quite typical weatherwise for latter May.
