Where the little green bellbirds do greet the new day
Like tiny bells ringing so pleasant to hear
They can be heard in Birdsland every day of the year
On their territory they do not tolerate birds of prey
Together they mob them and chase them away
In their flimsy bark and grass cup shaped nests bound with cobwebs the female birds lay
One to three pale pink spotted eggs low on tree from sight not hidden away
Bellbirds are not known to travel far and wide
In the wood they were raised in they mostly reside
They search for insects on the trees every day
And once heard their tinkling songs in your memory does stay
Though Birdsland to where i live is not anywhere near
The tinkling songs of the bellbirds i fancy I hear.
