Some of them ageing grandparents of today
In the war parade marching showing their years in gray
On the lapels of their coats their medals for bravery on display
It is said they fought for our freedom what is freedom anyway
Since these are meaningless words and words are easy to say
Even on our basic freedoms there is no guarantee
Though many with such thinking may well not agree
You have no guarantee that someone will not take your life
In a robbery gone wrong with a gun or a knife
Of death by terrorism and aerial bombers many people in the World does fear
That few in the World are truly free does seem obviously clear
And though many for saying this would not be happy with me
With that they fought for our freedom I cannot agree.
