A genius of words was the Caverwall poet
Robert Buchanan one worthy of far greater literary note
One who saw life to most in a different way
He was a natural wordsmith of him one can say
Such marvellous poetry he did create
And his literary output to say the least great
In life and in death as a poet he is not well known
Though as a wordsmith he remains in a class of his own
He was a person of enlightened mind
Yet life to him it did not seem at all kind
Having this said writers who grow wealthy from writing are few
And this is not saying anything that is new
With the wealthy and influential he never supped wine
And though today his poems live on in books and can be seen online
His is not considered a great literary name
And is a writer who desreves a far greater fame
One almost forgotten in the literary World of today
Yet in my estimation a great poet anyway
One who in his great poetry is worthy of recall
He does not have many equals the Poet of Caverwall.
