Magpie Larks Or Pee Wees

Magpie larks or pee wees i see and hear every day
So charming and endearing in their own familiar way
Dainty black and white birds slightly bigger than blackbirds of town parks and countryside
All over Australia they are known far and wide
In a cup shaped nest of mud mostly on fork of branch of tree
The female lay white eggs with brown dots of four, five or three
In paddocks and parks one often see them walking around
Searching for insects to eat on the ground
Once seen and once heard they live in memory
Their song does give rise to their nickname of pee wee
Though of humans wary they are not that shy
They allow you get close to them before they do fly
Dainty black and white birds i often does hear
And see more than once every day of the year.
