Beyond their own parish they never travel far
But they feel more content of mind than most of the well travelled are
happy to live as a familiar face
Among friends and family in their homeplace
The big World out there they feel no desire to see
And of the cares of life they does seem carefree
Without any wish for to travel to places elsewhere
And see some great sights in the big World out there
From their first home they never travel too far away
In familiar surrounds always happy to stay
Over decades of years their strong sense of place they retain
Whilst many they went to school with migrated at home they happily remain
Among friends and family a known and loved face
One has to admire them for their sense of place.
