The young men who played for Killarney Road Rovers where might they be today
Some of them living in Duhallow yet and some where the deceased are lay
And from Neily Duggan's Inch Field some of them ageing far away
Time does not wait for anyone as the wise one does say
The years go by so quickly and young men as young men does not stay
Some of the men who played for K R R are grandparents today
In the Inch Field at Claraghatlea their fans often cheered them on
And only the memories does remain of what has been and gone
Killarney Road Rovers now a defunct club just a memory of the past
But few things in life as has been said are ever known to last
On the much loved Rovers sad to say time brought the curtain down
There is no football club today just west of Millstreet Town
Nowadays no football club west of Millstreet Town which seems sad just the same
On The Inch Field the young men who played for Killarney Road Rovers enjoyed their Sunday game But on looking back the Seasons this now seems long ago
And time that was then on their side has now become their foe.
Doubtless the young men who played for Killarney Road Rovers retain the memory
Of their games on the Inch Field and of the what used to be
When they were younger, fitter and stronger and their legs did move fast
But time has become the master of the young men of the past.
