On View Of Clara Mountain

On View of Clara Mountain from here far away
The sweet scent of freshly mowed grass for silage or hay
In the green countryside near the Town of Millstreet
Where the waterways from the foothills does meet
In early August a warm Summer's day
The sun shining bright in a sky blue and gray
And with the sun on their dark wings chirping as they fly
The swallows are chasing flying insects in the sky
Though the calendar Autumn to Duhallow is near
Such beautiful weather even for the time of year
The contented cattle chewing their cuds lay in the shade of the trees
On a warm Summer's afternoon of around twenty degrees
In the fields of the badger and silver backed crow
Where Finnow the white river to the Blackwater flow.
