Today the birds are singing in the groves by Millstreet Town
The fields looking resplendent in their wildflowers of the Spring
Such joy to the beholder Nature's beauty does bring
The dark brown water birds dipper of breasts as white as snow
Are singing in the waterways where the rapids does flow
The cattle out of wintering sheds on months of eating silage and hay
On the nutritious young grass are gaining weight by the day
Above the rushy old fields of Duhallow in the Spring
The dark migratory barn swallows are chasing insects on the wing
The feathered athletes of the sky of them one can say
Home to breed for the Summer from warm climates far away
The songs of Nature's minstrels always a joy to hear
In Duhallow in mid April a lovely time of year.
