Though you have never been homeless or never slept rough
And you never have been without food for a day
Not everything of late has been going your way
Out of work since the factory you worked in last week closed down
And so few jobs available on your side of the town
With three young children to support and their mother your wife
Anyone cannot accuse you of having an easy life
Though better days in life you surely have had
Compared to so many you are not doing so bad
For so many people life is an uphill fight
There are millions without a bed to sleep in tonight
And though when you does die it will not be with hunger pain
You does have some reason for to complain.
