And was seldom found to be wanting when put to the test
In his early eighties his best years long gone
And only his love of life makes him want to live on
A father to a daughter who has children he never had a wife
Boxing was always his great love in life
One admired as a champion when in his life's prime
Though this is going back many decades in time
Quite jubilant in victory and gracious in defeat
In many ring battles he seldom was beat
A shadow of the man he once used to be
