But it does seem rather simple when put in this way
An old saying that does not stand the test of scrutiny
Life is not what you make of it for those in poverty
Such a saying to such people does never apply
Though most of them for success their hardest does try
Life is what you make of it is for those who are doing financially well
Who have a good story of their recent successes to tell
To their friends in the pub when for drinks they do meet
Some of their successes are never discreet
In a Human World where many do lose for a few for to gain
For the wealthy life is what you make of it as a truism remain
But not for the millions who are doing it tough
The hungry and homeless condemned to sleep rough.
