One on whom you know that you can depend
To help you if of help you are ever in need
As is said of friendship a friend in need is a friend indeed
Many who thought they had lots of friends when in trouble came to realize
That they did not have one friend this to them a surprise
But from life we do learn as we live every day
We never stop learning it does seem this way
If you have one true friend you are one of the lucky few
And this is not saying anything that is new
One who is trustworthy and will stand by you
This is what a good friend for their friend will do
If you have a friend who will stand by you when you are down
You are one of the lucky few of the town
