Kate And Stan

Wisdom and serenity does not come with time's decay
One can say of Kate that she waffles away
I feel glad that her i don't meet every day
Since for herself she always has so much to say

So different in ways to her quietly spoken husband Stan
Of him one can say a gentle sort of a man
There may be some truth in the saying that opposites in marriages can go well
Though on this others of have their own opinions to tell

Kate is seventy four and Stan is seventy three
They have been man and wife for half of a century
In some ways to him quite a devoted spouse
Though she is the ruler and master of their house

Ten times great grandparents with more on the way
On Stan's balding head the hair is silver gray
And Kate of shoulder length hair that is dyed chestnut brown
In her prime she was known as a rose of the town

Kate is a woman who talks quite a lot
Among the town's greatest wafflers for her there must be a spot
And Stan is a quiet one words with him are few
That it does take all kinds is not saying what is new.
