On Mary Duggan Healy's Eightieth Birthday

She was born as Mary Duggan just west of Millstreet Town
In Claraghatlea where on Clara Mountain looks down
She grew into a beautiful young woman kind, caring and wise
With dark wavy hair and lovely blue eyes

Her journey in life took her to New York in the U S of A
Where perhaps she will live her last night and day
In New York she married John healy a good Irish person who died some while ago
Going back in time some fifteen years or so

A grandmother to two boys sons of her son John
Her great love of life in Mary Healy lives on
On her eightieth birthday one who has aged well
And of life she has many good stories to tell

A compassionate person in her own generous way
Her seeds of good karma she sows every day
To her higher self she remains ever true
And the Karma we sow in life becomes our due

That the World is in need of more good people the fact does remain
In Mary Duggan Healy Duhallow's loss became New York's gain
On her eightieth birthday she is ageing far south
Of the fields of the badger and waterways of the brown trout.
