A long Way From Here

A long way from here to Hibernia's shore
And further to Clara above high Claramore
The old hill in Duhallow that ever looks down
On the green countryside and on Millstreet's rural Town
My journey in life it has brought me far south
Of the fields of the badger and waterways of the brown trout
From where my journey in life in Claraghatlea began
And where from a boy i grew into a man
Of life and of Nature we learn every day
We never stop learning in truth one can say
Far north i grew to love Nature as a young boy
And learning of her ways today i enjoy
In Illowa home to emu, koala, wallaby and gray kangaroo
And echidna, long billed corella and yellow tailed black cockatoo.
