By making small gods of every sporting great
It is out of admirers big egos are made
For the humble and compassionate never a street parade
That too much praise does go to the admired one's head
Truer words than this have never been said
Those who create mortal gods live in every town
But hero worshippers on others can look down
Those who their own praises or the praises of others never does sing
And live in their own way and do their own thing
As mentors of good example they do lead the way
We need more like them in the Human World of today
The gullible masses flawed mortal heroes create
By making small gods of every sporting great.
