So little about Nature I realize I do know
But we learn as we live as the wise one does say
And of Nature we learn something new every day
In September in early Spring so pleasant to hear
The birds who do sing every day of the year
The magpies are warbling on gum trees nearby
That they are marvelous songsters seems hard to deny
Above the sunlit paddocks in the blue and gray sky
The dark welcome swallows in pursuit of flying insects fly
Nearby under house eaves they have young in their mud nest
For them from hunting for food little time for rest
With seven striped young emus for him for to care
Father emu of danger seems ever aware
He feels ever wary of the threat to his family about
For foxes and feral cats and aerial predators he keeps a look out
Of Nature I know little in truth I can say
But of her I does learn something new every day
And of her and her ways there is so much to know
But my wonderment of her it only does grow.
