Familiar To Many

Mud nesting birds everyday i hear and see
Medium sized black and white they do sing regularly
They build cup shaped nest of mud on fork high on branch of tree
They are known as mudlarks or magpie larks and many call them pee wee
In town parks and gardens and paddocks of the countryside
Familiar birds to many Australia wide
They nest in the countryside and in the parks of every town
The female lay a small clutch of white eggs with light spots of brown
Like most species of birds they have ways of their own
And to most Australians they are very well known
Birds i do hear and do see every day
They allow you get close to them before they fly away
Known as magpie larks or mudlarks or by their song of pee wee
Familiar to many and familiar to me.
