Millions of them in refugee camps so sad for to say
The victims of famines and the war dispossessed
Not everyone with the good life have been blessed
So many children homeless and hungry living on the street
The toughest challenges in life at a young age they do meet
Their toughest challenge in life is just to stay alive
Few of them to young adults can hope to survive
Far less winners than losers it is always this way
There are billions of poor people in the Human World of today
It is now as it always was and ever will be
Sadly no such a thing as human equality
Those born into poverty of a fair go in life are denied
The gap between the wealthy and the poor keeps on growing ever wide
So many poor people tonight must sleep hungry and rough
The only life they do know of is quite tough
So many poor people who will never be parents to children or live to grow old
whose life stories in book form will never be told
Disadvantaged at a young age by birth circumstance
Of any success in life they do stand little chance.
