By Flaxman Street

They do not have to worry about money and life and work today
By Flaxman Street where many of the deceased of Warrnambool lay
Their worries behind them of any cares they are free
Life's journey too will end for you and for me

Some of them died young and many of them lived to die old
And many of them their life stories remain as untold
Many of them were born and raised and attended school
And married and raised their children in the City of Warrnambool

Close to the Hopkins River in their final resting spot
Many of them worked hard for their livelihood in death they should not be forgot
The most of them their names not on any memorial wall
And where they are at peace few do visit at all

In life great support to their communities and families they did give
And today many of their descendants in Warrnambool live
Life is a journey that for all of us comes to an end
As we are born as mortals why otherwise pretend

From life's cares and worries they have found release
By Flaxman Street close to the Hopkins River they now are at peace
Some of them died young and many of them lived to die old
And the life story of many of them remain as untold.
