Maldon On A September Night

A sky full of stars such a beautiful sight
The magpies are singing in Maldon tonight
In the still air the flute like warbling so pleasant to hear
Of the birds who does sing every day of the year
Tiny brown amphibians elusive and shy
The breeding frogs are singing in a pond nearby
To where I am standing they sing all night long
In September the urge to breed in them is strong
To the high Country of central Victoria in  Spring
Nature her own natural green beauty does bring
The wattle trees cloaked in their bright yellow flowers
That have come to bloom in the late Winter showers
In Maldon the frogs and the magpies does sing
On a calm and starry night in the early Spring.
