Wandering Joe

Time that ages all it has become his foe
His travelling days over old Wandering Joe
He is clearly not the man that he used to be
He looks many years older than sixty three

One who travelled far and wide and worked and lived in many a town
Balding and gray haired, sad looking and feeling down
He does not know if he has fathered children though he has never had a partner or wife
One who has made love to many women in his more active life

Alone in the World one without a true friend
His days as a traveler have come to an end
Not one into self pity as stoic he does remain
Of his lot in life he does never complain

One who has been to the World's great Cities London, New York, Delhi, Beijing, Paris and Rome
He now spends his days in a wheelchair in a retired person's home
Alone with his thoughts he does not have a friend
A motoring accident brought his travels to an end.
